Join us for a slow, contemplative yin yoga practice to increase flexibility and facilitate energetic healing. Rooted in traditions of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoism, and Hatha yoga, yin involves holding poses and gentle stretches for longer periods of time to promote connective tissue (fascia) release and removing energetic blockages to stimulate the flow of chi through the organs.
This workshop will cover the basics of yin philosophy, including meridians, yin and yang and the elements, and then we will apply these concepts to our bodies. Holding poses for 2-5 minutes, we will target our connective tissues--ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians--for mobility, flexibility, and organ health.
